Juvenal Juvencio, the president of the five-time national soccer champion Sao Paulo, said on Tuesday that Adriano, the most notable addition to his team in 2008, "needs to pray more."
Adriano suffered an accident in the streets of Rio de Janeiro Monday morning when he lost control of his car and slammed into two other cars.
The player claimed that he was cut off by another car and in an attempt to avoid an accident, he lost control of his car and subsequently hit two other cars.
In a phone interview, the president tried to avoid stating his opinion in regard to the accident. However, he did mention that the player will have to follow the strict rules and regulation that the Sao Paulo team follows.
"Drinking a beer with friends at a party is totally normal. We don't have anything against that. He is on vacation. However, an accident like the one that happened yesterday, especially in this time of the year, is a big strike," stated Juvencio.
The president of the team is planning on a private meeting with the forward. "It will be in the direction of helping the player," he claimed.
"I do not want to make any judgments or speculations about what happened. First of all, we will review the facts and see what happened. It is rumored that the player ran into the sidewalk," concluded the team's president. Source: Xinhua
