Czech midfielder Marek Matejovsky transferred from Czech first league's Mlada Boleslav to English Premier League's Reading on Monday.
Matejovsky, 26, told a press conference that he signed a 3.5-year contract with the club.
"I'm happy about the transfer. I will join the world's best league," Matejovsky said.
The financial conditions of the transfer have not been released.
Matejovsky passed the medical tests in Reading last week and he flew with his family to England to join the team.
The media have speculated about his transfer since last summer and mostly clubs of the German Bundesliga seemed to be interested in the player.
Matejovsky has been a member of the Czech national team since 2006. He played 104 matches in the Czech first league, scoring seven goals. He has not played a foreign league so far.
