Atletico Madrid were held to a disappointing 0-0 draw at home by Valladolid in the first leg of their King's Cup last-16 tie on Thursday.
Atletico's Diego Forlan and Luis Garcia should have found the net earlier but they wasted too many chances.
Valladolid's Sisi was denied a last-minute winner by a fingertip save from reserve keeper Ismael Falcon.
