The German national football team is the top favorite to win the Euro 2008 in June, according to a survey among Bundesliga players published on Monday.

In the poll among 275 top players conducted by sports magazine Kicker, 40.8 percent of the players believe that Germany can win the title at Euro 2008 in Austria and Switzerland on June 7-29.

Around 20.0 percent of the players considered world champions Italy to be the top favorite, while 9.6 percent of them gave more trust on France.

As for domestic league Bundesliga, a vast majority of 70.1 percent believe that Bayern Munich, who have led all season, will win the top title.

Werder Bremen got only 20.3 percent even though they are tied on points with Munich and trail only on goal difference.

But Bremen's Brazilian playmaker Diego was named the best foreigner in the Bundesliga by 43.6 percent of the players, far ahead of Munich's Frenchman Franck Ribery (25.2) and SV Hamburg's Dutch captain Rafael van der Vaart (13.9).
