Brazil coach Dunga on Monday announced the inclusion of Flamengo's right wingback Leonardo Moura in Brazil's roster for a friendly game on the Irish team in Dublin.
The 29-year-old footballer will replace Internazionale's Maicon, who was ruled out for the Feb. 6 game due to injury.
It will be the first time Moura has joined the national team, and he seemed to be surprised by the announcement.
"When Flamengo's President Kleber Leite told me I got drafted, I thought he was joking," the player told the local press. "I remembered the beginning of my career up to this moment in Flamengo. I cannot explain so much happiness."
Moura will represent a loss to his team in the sixth round of Rio's state championship, when it will face Volta Redonda, but he prefers to concentrate on the opportunity he was given.
"I want to show my work and fight to be always on Dunga's lists," he stressed.
Although he is a rookie like many others drafted for the game against Ireland, he is not an option for the Olympic team, as he is not aged under 23.
The other newcomers are: Milan's striker Alexandre Pato, Schalke 04's wingback Rafinha, Bayern Munich's defender Breno, Internacional's goalkeeper Renan and midfielders Hernanes (Sao Paulo), Richarlyson (Sao Paulo) and Thiago Neves (Fluminense). Source: Xinhua
