The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has assigned Vietnam to host Group A matches at the second qualifying round of the AFC Women's Asian Cup late next month, according to the Vietnam Football Federation on Thursday.

Vietnam, Iran, Myanmar and Chinese Taipei will clash each other in a round-robin format from March 22-30 in southern Ho Chi Minh City. The top two finishers will advance to the final round slated for May 28 to June 8 in Malaysia.

To prepare for the biannual competition in women's football, Vietnam's women soccer squad will go to China's Kunming city for training on Feb. 16.

AFC Women's Asian Cup, also known as the Asian Women's Football Championship, has been dominated by Asia-Pacific countries and regions with defending champion China having seven consecutive triumphs. Chinese Taipei have claimed the title three times, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea twice.
