After receiving new medical exams on his right thigh, Dagoberto was placed on the injured reserve list on the Sao Paulo soccer team, which will make its debut in the Libertadores Cup next Wednesday.
Dagoberto will sit out in the crucial game against Atletico Nacional in Medellin. He was injured on February 2 in a 0-0 tie with Ponte Preta.
Dagoberto returned to the field two games later, but began to feel pains in his thigh. He attempted to play in Thursday's game, however, he was taken off the starting roster at the last minute.
"There is no way to guess as to when the player will fully recuperate. He has a muscular contusion in his right thigh," said Jose Sanchez, the team doctor who is also looking after Aloisio.
Aloisio, jersey 14, began to feel pains in his pelvis during a game against Paulista. This is the second time this injury has affected his play this year. He was hurt in the first round of the Sao Paulo state tournament and only came back to play against Sao Caetano. His newest injury will leave him out of Sunday's game against Noroeste. The team hopes that the player will be ready to return to play in their debut of the Libertadores Cup, playing with Adriano up front.
"Aloisio has an excess of muscle mass and this leaves him vulnerable to problems," said Sanchez, who avoided mentioning the recovery time of the athlete.
Due to the list of injuries plaguing the team, the forward Eder was presented to the media on Friday as the team's latest acquisition. The player comes to Sao Paulo by way of a loan from the Noroeste team. Without the player's knowledge, Noroeste negotiated with Sao Paulo and only made the player aware of the loan after their latest game.
"It was a great and unexpected change in my career and I wasn't even aware of it. I played for Noroeste against Marilia and the staff told me about the trade after the game in the locker-room. I was told there were some talks in action, but I didn't think it would go through. I only believed it after the contract was signed," said the new 21 for Sao Paulo. Source: Xinhua
