The Brazilian Confederation of Soccer (CBF) announced on Wednesday that the soccer team of Corinthians will begin this year's competition in the second division on the 10th of May.
The CBF also announced the schedule for the rest of the Brasileiro tournament in the first and second division (Serie A and Serie B).
According to the CBF, Corinthians will begin the tournament playing against CRB in Pacaembu stadium on May 10th. The first game of the Serie B will begin on the 9th of May. The first games to kick off the tournament will be between Sao Caetano vs. Ponte Preto, Criciuma vs. America-RN, Brasiliense vs. Marilia and Bragantino vs. Santo Andre.
Most of the games that the Corinthians soccer club play will be held on Saturday. According to the team's schedule, the team will also play on Tuesday nights.
In the 10th round of the competition, Corinthians will face off against the champions of the third division, Bahia. On the 19th of July, the team from Sao Paulo (national champions in 1990, 1998, 1999 and 2005) will play the team from the north-east (winners of the first division in 1988) in Sao Paulo. The return game will be held in the 31st round in Bahia.
In the last game for Corinthians in the second division, the team will hope to have regained their status as a first division team. In the last round, the team will play America of Natal on the 29th of November.
