German Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munchen didn't make use of their lead and had to see a 1-1 draw with visiting Spaniards FC Getafe in the first leg of UEFA Cup quarterfinal on Thursday.

Bayern dominated much of the game, but Getafe equalized the score in the last minute. Thus, the German champions had to pay the price as they are now be under severe pressure next week in their return match at FC Getafe.

Italian international Luca Toni put Bayern in the lead in the 26th minute. Toni headed the Ottmar Hitzfeld's team ahead after a corner by Bastian Schweinsteiger. It was his eighth goal of the tournament. But Bayern wasted opportunities to stretch the lead even further.

Then, in the 90th minute, Romanian Cosmin Contra managed to lob the ball from seven meters past Bayern keeper Oliver Kahn to tie things up.

The 1-1 draw implies that Bayern will have to do better next week if they want to advance into the semi-final of the UEFA Cup.
