German Bayern Munich captain Oliver Kahn has recovered from injury and will go to St. Peterburg for the second leg of UEFA Cup semifinal on Thursday, Bayern coach Ottmar Hitzfeld said on Tuesday.
Kahn had to leave the pitch with a trapped nerve in his lower back in the second half of the teams' 1-1 draw in Munich last Thursday and missed Sunday's league match with VfB Stuttgart.
Also back in the team is Munich's Bundesliga top scorer Luca Toni, who was suspended for the first leg, according to Hitzfeld.
Hitzfeld told Munich's website later Tuesday that French international Willy Sagnol will have to stay behind in Munich as a result of his criticism Sunday that he had to play in midfield and not as right back against Stuttgart.
But Hitzfeld also said that Sagnol has by now apologized twice for his statements. Source:Xinhua
