The bottom-placed team in Mexico's closing tournament, America, will seek on Wednesday as home team to defeat Brazil's Flamengo soccer club in Copa Libertadores Knockout phase.

America is destined to be last place in the Mexican tournament but it has a chance to reach the finals in Copa Libertadores if it defeats Flamengo in the first leg game as home team at Azteca Stadium, 2,200 meters above sea level.

Flamengo is not going to be an easy opponent since it has accomplished two feats, since it is fighting for the Brazilian soccer title and it is also fighting for the Copa Libertadores title, and it has strong possibilities of winning both.

"We have to take advantage of everything" for the return game on May 7, said Flamengo's striker Manuel de Brito "Obina".

America soccer club will not be able to play with the three reinforcements for their defense allowed by regulations since Mexican teams did not allow them.

America's coach Ruben Omar Romano said he is not worried about this because "we have already proved it can be done, since we played against River Plate and had a good result."

America club will not play with the three reinforcements but it recovered three players from the injured list.

Meanwhile Flamengo club aims to obtain a comfortable advantage allowing it to pass to the quarterfinals after it plays the return game on May 7 at Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
