Chilean sports press on Monday hailed its soccer team's 2-0 triumph over Bolivia in La Paz, acclaiming the wager made by Argentine coach Marcelo Bielsa to use young players.
"Chile moves forward to the sixth place in the (South America's) World Cup qualifying round," local daily "El Mercurio" headlined.
"Bielsa gambled yesterday, using six new players and leaving in the waiting room some players who had come with a place earned," El Mercurio said.
The daily "Las Ultimas Noticias" said "it was super" and hailed" the dream performance of Gary Medel (Universidad Catolica)."
