Tanzania goes down to Cameroon in World Cup qualifier

Team Tanzania lost to Cameroon 2-1 in the fourth round of the 2010 World Cup/African Cup of Nations qualifying tournament, according to the Tanzania Football Federation.

The game was played on Saturday in Yaounde of Cameroon.

In the third round, Tanzania forced Cameroon to a scoreless draw in Dar es Salaam on June 14.

Team Cameroon have booked a berth in the next stage of the African qualifying tourney with 10 points from four matches while Team Tanzania have scored two points from two draws.

Cape Verde are now behind Cameroon on the African Zone Group One rankings with six points from two wins against Mauritius and Tanzania respectively.

The top two teams from the group qualifications advance to the next stage of the qualifying tourney.
