Turkey goalkeeper Volkan Demirel will miss Wednesday's Euro 2008 semifinal clash with Germany after UEFA rejected Turkey's appeal against his two-match ban on Monday.

The Turkey's first-choice stopper was suspended after being sent off for pushing striker Jan Koller to the ground towards the end of his side's thrilling 3-2 victory over Czech Republic in their final Group A fixture.

He missed the penalty shootout quarterfinal victory over Croatia on Friday as a result, and will now be forced to once again watch on from the sidelines as his team-mates look to book a place in the final.

The UEFA Appeals Body also upheld the fine imposed on the Turkish Football Federation, amounting to 27,000 euros, for crowd disturbances and the improper conduct of the team and officials.
