German Football Federation (DFB) president Theo Zwanziger said DFB would like to extend contract with German coach Joachim Low.

After taking over from Jurgen Klinsmann after the 2006 World Cup, Low has done an impressive job as Germany coach.

After Germany reached the final of Euro 2008 on Wednesday, Zwanziger said Low just needs to express his interest in a new deal.

"He can come to us whenever he wants - in 2009 or 2010 - and we will sit down together," he said.

"We have to make the environment for his work even better. There are new tasks ahead including the World Cup qualification against Russia."

Zwanziger described Low as a "great trainer", but said DFB also has other options after 2010 if necessary.

"Our system is not necessarily dependent on one person," Zwanziger was quoted as saying.
