Paraguayan President Fernando Lugo predicted a 2-0 win over Argentina in their 2010 World Cup qualifier three days away.
On his visit to the national soccer team, Lugo went to the Sports and Education High Performance Center (CARDE) in Ypane, 35 km south of the capital city of Paraguay, where he said that "soccer is a great pride for the country."
In short declarations to the Paraguayan press, Lugo said "I hope you give us a new joy on Saturday and Tuesday," referring to the qualifiers against Argentina in Buenos Aires and against Venezuela in Asuncion.
About the first encounter, he forecasted "a 2-0" in favor of Paraguay and even ventured to mention the goals: Nelson Haedo Valdez and another one from Paulo Da Silva, the Ultima Hora Web site reported.
The Paraguayan soccer team, leader in the South American qualifying zone with two points ahead of Argentina, will travel on Thursday to Buenos Aires.
