Uruguay and Ecuador draw 0-0 on Wednesday at Montevideo in a result which punishes an inexpressive local host team and rewards the visiting team in the South American zone World Cup qualifying tournament.
The point obtained in the Centenario Stadium, before 40,000 spectators, left Uruguay with 12 points, which guarantees it to stay in the classification zone, and Ecuador behind with nine points.
The host never found its play and it was vague and with lack of offensive, while the vistors went to the bottom and managed the ball in an intelligent way.
Ecuador, coached by Sixto vizuete, left Centenario stadium happy with the point they gained, considering that on weekend they achieved a victory against Bolivia 3-1.
The Uruguayan players were Juan Castillo; Bruno Silva, Diego Lugano, Diego Godin, Martin Caceres; Sebastian Eguren, Walter Gargano (46th Maximiliano Pereira), Cristian Rodriguez; Ignacio Gonzalez (60th Luis Suarez); Carlos Bueno (70th Sebastian Abreu), Diego Forlan.
Ecuadorian players: Jose Cevallos; Omar de Jesus, Giovanni Espinoza, Ivan Hurtado, Isaac Mina; Walter Ayovi, Segundo Castillo, Antonio Valencia, Edison Mendez; Joffre Guerron (82nd Jose Luis Cortez), Felipe Caicedo (79th Félix Borja).
