First half goals from defender Joan Capdevila and striker David Villa opened the way for Spain to complete a comfortable 4-0 win over Armenia in Albacete on Wednesday night.

Villa added a second 14 minutes from time and Marcos Senna rounded off a comfortable win for the Spanish with a long range shot in what was a night for the fans to enjoy in the Carlos Belmonte Stadium.

The win means Spainhave won their opening two World Cup qualifying matches and have had a perfect start to their campaign to qualify for the 2010 World cup finals in South Africa.

As expected Spain coach Vicente del Bosque made two changes to his side against the weaker opposition.

Center forward Dani Guiza took his place in the starting 11 along with winger Santi Cazorla with David Capel and Cesc Fabrigas dropping out of the team that beat Bosnia-Herzegovina 1-0 on Saturday.

Capdevila opened the scoring after just seven minutes, controlling a long ball from local boy Andres Iniesta and finding the time to fire a powerful shot in at the post.

Nine minutes later Villa doubled the lead. The man who scored the winning goal at the weekend took another pass from Iniesta before controlling and rifling home the second.

Everything pointed to Armenia receiving a sever punishment at the hands of a rampant Spain side and Villa could have added anther pair before the break, as the home side continued to dominate.

The story remained the same after the break. Spain had all of the ball, while Armenia struggled to keep them at bay. Del Bosque took advantage of the situation to give a debut to 18-year-old Bojan Krkic after 65 minutes as the game ran into danger of petering out.

It was down to Villa to bring it back to life. The Valencia forward hit the post after 76 minutes and that was a taste of what was to come as he netted his second of the game and Spain's third three minutes later. This time it was a combination between Cesc and Xabi Alonso, both on as substitutes, which set up the striker.

There was still time for another goal as midfielder Marcos Sennafired home from distance to score the fourth of the night and complete a straightforward win for the Spanish.
