Hamburger SV snatched their third victory of the season from the jaws of defeat with a 3-2 home win against Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, to take over at the head of the Bundesliga.

The guests got off to a barnstorming start, stunning the majority of the 55,187 crowd into silence with goals from Tranquillo Barnetta in the 4th minute and Patrick Helmes in the 24th minute.
Paolo Guerrero got Hamburg back into it in the 36th minute before second-half strikes from Ivica Olic in the 51st minute and substitute Mladen Petric in the 72nd minute turned the game around.
With 10 points at hand, Hamburg SV took the lead of the Bundesliga standings, two points ahead of runners up Bayern Munich, which swept Koeln 3-0 in an away match.
