FIFA, soccer world governing body, said on Thursday that the organization's executive committee would meet next week to discuss the bidding process for competitions.

In a statement FIFA said that the agenda for the executive committee featured several topics, including the bidding process and the international match calendar for 2008-2014.

"Following inspections in September and October and the recent local organizing committee board meeting on 3 October, the FIFA executive will be given updates on the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the current status of preparations for FIFA's flagship competition as well as that of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2009," the organization said.

"In the area of competitions, there will be reports on the Olympic Football Tournaments in Beijing, the Beach Soccer World Cup in Marseille and the Futsal World Cup in Brazil."
