In the heavy rains of Sao Paulo, the home team came back from behind to beat Vitoria on Thursday night 2-1 in the Brazilian Championship.

Vitoria jumped to the lead in the 14th minute as Leonardo Silvaout jumped the defense and headed the corner kick into the back of the Sao Paulo net.

However, in the 28th minute, Hernanes, well outside of the penalty box, sent the ball into the right corner of the net to level the score. It was in the 8th minute of the second half when Sao Paulo secured the victory.

Jorge Wagner sent the ball to the front of the net where Hugo was able to head it into the net.

With the win, Sao Paulo stand second, three points behind leaders Gremio, who also won on Thursday night against Sport.

Gremio stand in first place with 59 points, followed by Sao Paulo (56), Cruzeiro (55) and Flamengo (55).

Next week, in the 32nd round of play, Sao Paulo will travel to Rio de Janeiro to play Botafogo on Wednesday. On the same night, Vitoria will host Flamengo at the Barradao stadium in Salvador, Bahia.
