Cafu, the Brazilian soccer player who has suited up most times in the Brazilian national team's jersey, said that his dream is to end his career while wearing the "Yellow and Green".

"This is what I want most. Dressing up for the last time in the jersey of the national team, in front of our home crowd, would be the end to a great career," said the fullback.

"However, it doesn't depend on me. I seriously don't know if I will be invited to play again. I don't want to set up any high expectations, nor do I want to ask anything of anyone."

According to statistics of the Brazilian Football Confederation(CBF), Cafu has played in 149 games for the national team. He has also participated in three World Cups, wining two of them.

The first came in the United States in 1994 and the second came in South Korea/Japan in 2002. His last performance for the team was during the 2006 World Cup in Germany, where he was heavily criticized and named as one of those responsible for the team's early exit.

"I hope that a career full of victories and accomplishments, I will not be remembered for our loss in the World Cup in Germany. I don't deserve that," added the player.

The Brazilian has been without a team since July of this year. He left his Italian team, Milan, to retire. However, the player sees 2009 as his last season.

"I have had some proposals," he said, referring to Brazilian club, Santos, as well as a team in the United States.

The 38-year-old began his career in Brazil. In his beginning, he was rejected during tryouts for the teams of Sao Paulo, Palmeiras and Corinthians.
