Villarreal striker Nihat Kavechi compared his return to fitness with his team making a new signing in the winter transfer market.
Speaking to the newspaper El Mundo Deportivo on Friday, Nihat spoke of his frustration after suffering a serious muscle injury in his right thigh on September 28, which has kept him out of action ever since.
"The worst moment is the instant you get injured and when you are carried off the pitch. I had enjoyed a great year and getting injured kills you," he said.
"I want to be ready to play as soon as possible and that is why I am working hard and with a real desire to return," said the Turkish international.
"It has been a long time since I have been able to play or train with my companions, but I have been training for a week at full rhythm and doing all of the exercises with them," he explained.
Nihat's return to action comes at a perfect time for Villarreal, who will be without striker Joseba Llorente with a muscle injury for the next three weeks. The Turk will be the perfect replacement and his pace will compliment Giuseppe Rossi in the Villarreal front line.
"I don't know if I can play this weekend or next weekend, but I have to take good care of myself and take things calmly."
"I am the first signing of the winter," said Nihat. Source: Xinhua
