Real Madrid is on the verge of making their second signing of the winter this Tuesday after Premier League side Portsmouth announced they had accepted a bid from the Spanish side for their midfielder Lassana Diarra.

"We have always said we would only allow our players to leave if we received an exceptional bid,"

"We could not stand in the way of a move such as this for Lassana," said the statement on the official Portsmouth website.

Although neither club has revealed how much Real Madrid has offered to pay for the French midfielder, it is thought to be in excess of 25 million euros.

Real Madrid now has to agree personal terms with the 23-year-old Diarra, who has played for both Arsenal and Chelsea, but that should not be a problem.

Diarra will be Real Madrid's second signing for the winter transfer market. The club has already presented Dutch striker Jan-Klaas Huntelaar.

It also appears that the club is also on the verge of bringing back attacking midfielder Dani Parejo, who is currently on loan at English Championship side Queens Park Rangers.
