Spanish club Real Madrid defeated Villarreal 1-0 on Sunday, in its first match with new players Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Lassana Diarra.
Arjen Robben cut in from the touchline and shook off three Villarreal players as he sent a curling shot past Villarreal goalkeeper Diego Lopez from the edge of the penalty area in the 32nd minute.
Huntelaar and Diarra both made debuts for Madrid in the team's first encounter of 2009.
