Hosts Tanzania have routed visitors the Comoros 8-1 in their first-leg match of the 2009 African Champions League soccer tournament.

The champions league pools title holders of previous year's national leagues across the continent. Tanzania is represented by the Young Africans while the Comoros is represented by the Etoile d 'Or Mironty.

Boniface Ambani scored half of the eight goals for the hosts who travel to the Comoros for the return leg of the home-and-away match-ups.
