Palmeiras leading scorer Keirrison turned up to be fine in a car accident when his brother's car was hit by a drunk driver Saturday.

Suspended from playing in Sunday's match against Guaratingueta due to an accumulation of yellow cards, Keirrison decided to travel to Curitiba to be with his family in his brother's car on Saturday.

Keirrison was in his home town Curitiba, leaving the airport with his brother, Kimarrison, when they were blindsided by an intoxicated motorist.

Kimarrison was driving when the car slammed into the back of the vehicle, throwing it into a light post, knocking it down. Miraculously, no one was seriously injured.

"Their car was hit by another car, of which the driver was drunk. However, it appears that both Keirrison and Kimarrison are fine," affirmed the athlete's agent, Marcos Malaquias.

The scare not only shook up the player's family, but the soccer club as well. Upon hearing the news of his leading scorer's accident, head coach Vanderlei Luxemburgo, expressed his relief in knowing that Keirrison was not seriously injured.
