Corinthians won their passage to the finals of the Sao Paulo state soccer championship on Sunday after beating Sao Paulo 2-0.

Having beaten their rivals in the first leg of the semifinals 2-1, Corinthians needed just a draw in Sunday's game to advance. And with goals from Ronaldo and Douglas, the team convincingly won their right to the state's final.

Corinthians' first goal of Sunday's game came in the 55th minute. Ronaldo launched a beautiful pass off to Jorge Henrique, who took a shot on goal but the ball ricocheted off the goal post.

Douglas was in the right place at that time and took advantage of the rebound to pound the ball into the back of the Sao Paulo net.

Ronaldo put the series out of reach when he scored in the 58th minute. Sneaking past the defense, Ronaldo received an excellent ball and blew it past a diving Sao Paulo goalkeeper Bosco, who is attempting to fill the shoes of an injured Rogerio Ceni.

With their victory, Corinthians advances to the state finals. They will face-off against Santos for this year's title. It will be the first time in twenty-five years that the two teams meet in the state finals.
