The representative of Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o said on Tuesday that his client did not want to swap the Spanish and European Champions for Manchester City.
Eto'o has reportedly been the subject of a 30 million euros bid from the English club, which is reported to be willing to pay him 250,000 euros a week.
That would make Eto'o the highest paid footballer in the world, earning more than recent Real Madrid's new signings Kaka and Cristiano Ronaldo.
This Tuesday, Eto'o's agent Josep Mesalles insisted the player didn't want to leave Barcelona despite that offer.
"His (Eto'o) wish has always been to stay at Barcelona, because he loves the club. He aims to stay here and see out the year he has left on his contract," said Mesalles at a press conference held in a Barcelona hotel.
The 28-year-old has only one year left on his deal with Barcelona and from January 2010 he will be able to negotiate with who he wants and leave the club at the end of his current deal for nothing.
However, Mesalles didn't entirely close the door on a possible move away from Barcelona this summer.
"If he does have to leave the club, he won't place any impediment in the way and I want to make it clear that it will not be for economic reasons," he said, although he insisted that Eto'o had not been in direct contact with Manchester City.
"We have not sat down to talk with the English club and Eto'o's aim is to be back here in Barcelona on July 19 for the physical tests, before starting pre-season training with the rest of the squad and he will give everything, just as he did last season to see if we can improve on the treble we won last year," said the agent.
