Bundesliga top scorer Grafite on Tuesday agreed to extend his contract with newly-crowned German champions VfL Wolfsburg for another year, lasting until June 30, 2012.
This decision was made in Sylt during a training camp, local media reported.
Grafite moved in August 2007 for 8 million euros from the French Club "Le Mans UC 72" over to
VfL Wolfsburg. Grafite became the top scorer of the Bundesliga with 28 goals in 25 appearances last season, and played a crucial role in the club's first ever Bundesliga title.
"Grafite is a high-level striker. He's extremely important for the team. Therefore I'm extremely pleased with our long term collaboration," said Wolsburg head coach Armin Veh.
The 30-year-old striker has so far tallied 39 goals in 49 games after he joined Wolfsburg.
"I'm highly satisfied with the extension, I'm looking forward to next Bundesliga season as well as to the Champions League. I will fulfil my duties," he said. Source: Xinhua
