Six Spaniards candidates to FIFA World Player

Six Spain's soccer players are among the 23 candidates for the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) World Player prize, FIFA sources said on Friday.

According to the sources, the Spaniard candidates are Casillas, Iniesta, Puyol, Xavi, Torres and Villa; and the winner will be announced during the 19th FIFA Gala of World Player to be hosted on Dec. 21 in Zurich, Switzerland.

Also among the candidates to win the prize, there are other six foreigners playing for Spanish clubs, who are Messi, Henry, Ibrahimovic, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Luis Fabiano and Samuel Etoo.

Meanwhile, the "Premier League" is represented by Gerrard (Liverpooll), Rooney (Manchester United), Italy by Buffon and Diego, from Germany only Ribery of Bayern is at the list and the Chelsea has Ballack, Drogba, Michael Essien, Lampard and John Terry among its favorites.

At the beginning of December, FIFA will announce the name of the five players with more votes from the coaches and national teams' captains. The winner will receive the award also during the Gala of World Player.
