Poland's Culture and National Heritage Minister Bogdan Zdrojewski and Sports and Tourism Minister Adam Giersz on Wednesday signed a cooperation agreement to promote the EURO 2012 soccer championships through cultural measures.
The combination of sports and tourism with culture is a good idea for mutual promotion of these areas, Giersz was quoted by Polish news agency PAP as saying.

"We have a joint interests in developing our cooperation, promoting tourism through culture and vice versa," Giersz said.
The agreement is also intended to improve the functioning of culture institutions servicing big organized groups visiting Poland.
"There are institutions in Poland which have excellent guides, a long tradition, in servicing big groups, have good guidebooks. But they are still rare," Zdrojewski said.
In the area of Poland's promotion abroad, the two ministries will be represented by Adam Mickiewicz Institute and Polish Tourism Organization.
