Argentine soccer star Sorin called it quits for his professional career on Wednesday at the age of 33.
The Cruzeiro player waved farewell to the sport after his team defeated Argentino Juniors 2-1 in a friendly game.
Before the match, Sorin was admitted into the Cruzeiro Hall of Fame, imprinting his footprint into the side walk of the stadium.
"It is a great party for Sorin, but he deserves much more. I am grateful to be here and support him," said Argentinean goalkeeper Peric.
After the break, Sorin played for Argentino Juniors, his first professional club. Minutes later, he changed his jersey and continued to play for Cruzeiro.
Despite multiple attempts on goal, Sorin was unable to score in his farewell match. Bernardinho (52nd minute) and Guerron (65th minute) scored for Cruzeiro while Santibanesz scored for the Argentineans in the 90th minute.
Cruzeiro coach Adilson Batista, however, was much more concerned about his team's upcoming game against Sport on Saturday for the 34th round of the Brazilian Championship.
Making a total of 14 substitutions, Adilsion guaranteed that his starters will be fresh for the important upcoming match.
