Zambia national soccer team captain Christopher Katongo has admitted that scoring two goals in six games of the just-ended 2010 African Cup qualifiers was not a good record but has assured that the tide will change at the Africa Cup championship, the Times of Zambia reported on Wednesday.
Zambia was in Group C with defending African champions Egypt, Algeria and Rwanda but the team's performance has been rated as the worst in the country's World Cup and Africa Cup qualifiers.
Katongo said in an interview with the paper from his base in Germany that the team found itself in a difficult situation because the three opponents in the last qualifiers had strong backlines.
The Zambian captain however said the deficiency in scoring could not be blamed on any individual player, as the team was just unfortunate.
Zambia only managed to score two goals in six matches and finished the group with five points.
