In the 17th round of the Sao Paulo state championship, home team Sao Paulo beat Mirassol 1-0 on Sunday to keep its second place with only two rounds remaining before entering the playoffs.

The game's only goal was scored by the talented midfielder and member of the Brazilian national soccer team Lucas.

In the 27th minute, Locas received the ball at midfield and proceeded to attack the defense. The speedy midfielder dribbled past two defenders and then beat keeper Fernando Silva, tapping the ball into the open net.

Lucas was not shy to hide his excitement. After the match, he celebrated his goal by saying that he has been waiting a long time to score such a beautiful goal.

In second place with 37 points, Sao Paulo has already qualified to play in the playoffs. In the next round of the state championship, the team will travel to face Noroeste on April 10.

The win also helps the team to enter its return leg match against Santa Cruz on April 6 with confidence. Having lost 1-0 in the first leg, the team will need to win by two goals or more in order to advance in the Brazilian Cup.
