"Although it will not be easy thing to do, we hope to stay sufficiently aware and not to go too far and risk for nothing. We should not forget we are competing against the official teams, with our car being not even close, technically speaking, to their cars. What we aim at is making it to the finish of the rally, improving our experience, with the new members of our team to help us in this," Gabi Nicolae, driver and team manager of Team Dakar Romania said.
There were 111 motorcycles registered with the Central Europe Rally, 16 quads, 94 cars and 39 trucks. Central Europe Rally is to be carried out over April 20-26 in Hungary and Romania, with the entry into Romania to be made at Vama Petea. The organizers of the most difficult rally worldwide prepared a diverse circuit to need technical skills, with the competitors to cover half of its length, that is 3000km, and to considering it a special test.
"We are very enthusiastic about participating in the Central Europe Rally and we are also proud of the fact that we are going in fact to participate in the most significant event of the kind worldwide, which is also to pass through Romania. It is not only about the emotions related to a new experience, but it is even more, as our families and friends will be able to see us closely when we are participating in such an international competition," Liviu Stan, co-driver of Team Dakar Romania 1 said. Source: Xinhua
