Olympic silver medalist Cai crowned at National Games

Olympic silver medallist Cai Yun paired up with his national teammate Xu Chen to lift men's doubles badminton title at the 11th Chinese National Games here on Sunday.

Cai/Xu from Jiangsu overcame Fu Haifeng and Zhu Lihua from Guangdong 21-16, 21-15 in the 39-minute final.

Cai was also the champion of the last National Games but with another partner Zhang Jun, who is currently a national coach.

In the national team, Cai teamed up with Fu to win a silver medal at the Beijing Olympic Games. They were also twice world champions in 2006 and 2009.
