Australia's Brenton Rickard shattered the world record to win the men's 100 meters breaststroke final at the world swimming championships on Monday.

Rickard clocked the winning time of 58.58 seconds, beating France's Hugues Duboscq and Cameron van der Burgh of South Africa into second and third place
