Russia launches U.S. communication satellite |

Russia on Saturday launched a U.S. heavy communication satellite into the geotransfer orbit for the first time in history, the Federal Space Agency said.
The U.S. satellite Direc TV10 was blast off on Russia's Proton-M carrier at 05:16 Moscow time (0116 GMT), Saturday, the Itar-Tass news agency reported.
The commercial multipurpose satellite Direc TV10, which was designed on the basis of the Boeing 702 platform, is the heaviest craft weighing 5,900 kilograms.
