China and Russia kicked off a science and technology cooperation theme week here on Tuesday and scientists from the two states pledged to further cooperation.
The Chinese scientists delegation, including some 30 members of the Academy of Science and the Academy of Engineering, will exchange views with their Russian counterparts in the event, which is also part of the "Year of China" in Russia.
"Chinese and Russian scientists and engineers have conducted friendly cooperation which yielded in fruitful results in such fields as aviation and space exploration, nuclear energy and material science," said Xu Kuangdi, president of the Academy of Engineering.
Such topics as aviation and space exploration, electronic technology, oil, natural gas, agriculture, metro and underground projects will be discussed in seminars and workshops in the event.
