A live launch exercise will be carried today, October 22, for "Chang'e I," China's first moon-probing satellite. The launch is at its countdown stage; and will take place between October 22 and 25.

All departments involved will be ready today for true launch conditions; and the exercise will be carried out according to actual launch time. Visitors will vacate the launching area two hours beforehand; and an alarm will sound for the withdrawal of working staff one hour beforehand. Thirty minutes before the "launch," all staff will remain in a safety zone. During the entire process, mock fueling and ignition will occur; and the signal will be given for tracking.

This is reportedly the only comprehensive drill before the final launch of "Chang'e I," and aims to spot and fix any problems that might occur during the launch.
