Vietnam has so far this yearconferred the title of professor or associate professor to 499local people, raising the total number of professors and associateprofessors in the country to nearly 6,600.
Vietnam had additional 54 professors and 445 associateprofessors in 2007, according to local newspaper VietnamAgriculture on Monday.
Domestic sectors with most people being conferred the title ofprofessor this year include medicine with 10 persons, mathematicsand physics with six each, and economics with five.
