Singapore launched a games resource portal for the games community on Monday in a bid to boost the city-state's games industry.

The portal is a new initiative under the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). Singapore-based games companies can feature their products and services, and look for business opportunities on this portal, said Lui Tuck Yew, Senior Minister of State for Education and Information, Communications and the Arts, when he announced the initiative at an information communication event.

Young Singaporeans can also showcase their portfolio on the portal, as it aims to match budding games enthusiasts and talent with interested games companies, said Lui.

Singapore has been trying to attract major players and to develop a sound ecosystem for digital media companies to do business in Singapore.

The inforcomm sector in Singapore registered an annual revenue growth of 13.8 percent to 51.68 billion Singapore dollars (35.2 billion U.S. dollars) last year.
