Melinda Gates, the wife of Microsoft founder Bill Gates, revealed that Bill has banned iPods and iPhones from his household, in an interview with this month Vogue magazine.

When the topic of their children comes up, Mrs. Gates admits that Bill Gates -- who co-founded the Microsoft empire, which is of course the archenemy of Apple -- has a policy against iPods and iPhones.

"There are very few things that are on the banned list in our household. But iPods and iPhones are two things we don't get for our kids," she was quoted as saying.

But she also admitted that she had been tempted by the iPhone, saying "Every now and then I look at my friends and say 'Ooh, I wouldn't mind having that iPhone.'"

In 2006, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer also stated that his kids didn't have iPods or use Google.
