A batch of electrify-driven light trucks were put into trial operation on May 6, in Wuhan, capital city of central China's Hubei Province.
The light truck, designed and produced by Dongfeng Motor Corporation, is driven by a group of storage batteries. The highest speed is 80 KPH, but it normally runs at 40 to 50 KPH in city. One recharge, taking approx five hours, will allow the truck to be driven 100 to 150 km. The lifespan of the battery is over one year.
Previously Dongfeng Motor Corporation had developed hydrogen-driven cars and hybrid power coach successfully. The hybrid power coach have begun commercial use.
