Swedish energy company Vattenfall and Volvo Car Corporation have jointly demonstrated a new type of electric car which can be charged at home with normal plug-in and does not emit green house gas.

The car was demonstrated during the World Bioenergy –Clean Vehicles and Fuels conference and exhibition in Stockholm.

According to the introduction from Vattenfall staff, the car is actually a hybrid type because it keeps the original fuel tank in front while developing a rechargeable battery part in the back. People can charge the car with any normal plug-in at home during the night. The car can run a maximum of 50 kilometers after being fully charged.
Research shows that people normally drive within 50 kilometers a day.

A technician who involves the design said no matter who owns Volvo, the design of new cars will continue as General Motors is going to sell Volvo and China's Geely was said to have offered to buy it.

The zero emission car is expected to be put on market on 2012.

Zero emission vehicles and infrastructure policies and practices have been a hot topic during the conference held on September 16 to 18.
