China to start building first 10 million-kw-level wind power station in mid-July
Workers would begin construction on China's first 10 million-kw-level wind power station in mid-July in the far northwestern city of Jiuquan, Gansu Province, a local official said Sunday.

The world's largest and most advanced underwater observatory project was launched Friday in a ceremony at Canadian Forces Base Esquimalt in the western Pacific province British Columbia, Canadian media reported.
Study: New type of El Nino could mean more hurricanes make landfall
El Nino years typically result in fewer hurricanes forming in the Atlantic Ocean. But a new study suggests that the form of El Nino may be changing potentially causing not only a greater number of hurricanes than in average years, but also a greater chance of hurricanes making landfall, according to climatologists at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
