Third Singaporean died of dengue |

A third Singaporean died of dengue this year, local media reported on Wednesday.
The patient was a 66-year-old Singaporean-Chinese male, who developed a fever on June 15, Channel NewsAsia reported.
He was initially given outpatient treatment, but was admitted into Alexandra Hospital on June 18 after tests showed that he had contracted dengue fever.
Then his condition deteriorated rapidly and despite medical management died one day later.
The second victim who died earlier this month was a 63-year-oldman while the first victim this year was an 85-year-old man who died from dengue shock syndrome on May 25.
Singapore's Health Ministry said the country are facing upward trend of dengue epidemic and keeps reminding residents to be vigilant.
According to Singapore's National Environment Agency, more than3,200 cases of dengue have been reported so far this year, surpassing the total number of cases for the whole of last year of3,120.
