A man Sunday succumbed to bird-flu- like symptoms, Dr Prajak Wattanakul, chief of Thailand's Provincial Public Health Department said.

Prajak was quoted by local newspaper the Nation's website as saying that the patient had high fever, cough, exhaust, and pneumonia.

"Test results will come out in one or two days. By then, we will be able to say whether he died of bird flu," Prajak said.

According to the doctor, the patient lived next door to his elder brother's cockfighting yard. Recently, some of the fowls died without clear reasons.
