Many Nepali visitors are eager to learn more from China through a photo exhibition with the theme of "Chinese People''s Life Through Cameras" held in Nepali capital Kathmandu on Saturday. Nawa Raj Giri, 13-year-old secondary school student of Loyalty Academy in Nepali capital Kathmandu was deeply impressed that the net enrollment rate of primary school children all over China has amounted over 99 percent. Being students themselves, Giri and his classmates were happy to spend extra time watching a photograph portraying a group of Chinese school children huddled around a book during the photo exhibition. They also came to know through the photographs that 9-year compulsory education program has been spread throughout more than 95 percent areas of China. They were among the thousands of visitors who were happy to return home with vibrant imagination about China after watching a total of 188 photographs displayed in the four-day photo exhibition jointly organized by China Society for Human Rights Studies, Embassy of the People''s Republic of China in Nepal, World Cultural Net and China Information Center. Nepali Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Prithvi Subba Gurung who was also the chief guest of the program wrote a comment in the visitor''s book that China is a "Land of diversity." While expressing sincere thanks to the organizers and co- organizers for providing an opportunity to observe the real life of Chinese people through the exhibition, he said, "the people to people cultural exchange has been playing significant role in strengthening and consolidating the friendship between Nepal and China which could be traced back to times unknown." Shrijana Kunwar, an event manager and the contestant for Miss Tourism World-2006 from Nepal, said she will come back again to learn more about China through the exhibition.
Kunwar told to Xinhua, "it''s like a roller-costar ride to watch such a diverse cultural, geographical and social pictures depicting China in this photo exhibition."
